Today, we are going to talk about how soon you should plan your wedding. Everyone has a preference on the length of their engagement. Today, I’m going to break it down all the time it takes to create your perfect wedding day.

The ideal time to start wedding planning depends on several factors such as the size and complexity of the event, availability of venues and vendors, and personal preferences. However, it is typical to start planning at least 12 to 18 months before the wedding date. This timeline allows couples to secure popular venues, preferred vendors, and services, as well as to accommodate any unforeseen circumstances or delays that may arise during the planning process. Smaller, less elaborate weddings may require less time to plan, while larger destination weddings may need a longer planning period. Ultimately, it’s best to start planning as soon as possible to ensure a smooth and stress-free wedding experience.

At a minimum, I recommend you start planning your wedding at least 4 months in advance. This is the shortest time period I’d recommend, and with that, you’d want to move quickly! I suggest this minimum because it is standard to send out wedding invitations at least 3 months in advance. So this gives you the first month to secure your venue, date, dress, and wedding invitations. When you are buying your wedding dress, be sure that it will arrive in time for any necessary alterations.
