Sarah and Nick’s Winter Wedding at The Hartwood in Clayton, North Carolina was filled with meaningful details and intentional choices. The weather was crisp and clear, perfect for a winter celebration. The color palette was blue and maroon—seasonal without feeling like Christmas, just as the bride wanted.
During the ceremony, Nick gave personal vows not only to Sarah but also to her daughter, who served as junior maid of honor. It was a powerful moment that reflected the joining of their family. Later in the evening, Sarah honored her late father by skipping the traditional father-daughter dance. Instead, she invited Nick and her daughter to share a dance. She then opened the floor to all fathers and daughters, encouraging guests to cherish those moments while they can.
Sarah and Nick included personal details that made the day uniquely theirs. They brought in a lemonade stand from Squeeze the Day, the same one they visit every weekend at the Clayton Farmers Market. Guests chose between pickle lemonade for Sarah and peach for Nick. Instead of a bouquet toss, they tossed t-shirts into the crowd, adding a fun and unexpected twist. After the first dance, Sarah surprised everyone with an outfit change.
The dessert table featured over 30 different sweets, giving guests a wide variety to enjoy. It was a standout part of the reception.
