Kayla and Malik’s Graylyn Estate wedding design was a dream. An outdoor celebration that beautifully blended royal inspiration with a modern twist. Graylyn Estate looks like a European castle, surrounded by gardens that feel straight out of the English countryside. It was the ideal backdrop for a design inspired by Princess Diana’s iconic wedding style and the British royal family’s gardens.

To modernize the traditional royal design aesthetic, we introduced chartreuse accents into a palette of soft neutrals and ivory. This color choice brought a modern energy to the design and photographed beautifully against the estate’s stone architecture.

Texture played a huge role in the overall look. The pintuck linens added dimension while travertine textures brought warmth and an organic feel to the tablescape. For a personal touch for guests, we used laser-cut acrylic place cards.

The ceremony space was one of our favorite details to create. Soft draping framed the gazebo in the white garden, adding movement and romance while keeping the focus on the couple. Surrounded by blooming gardens and the grandeur of Graylyn’s stone walls, it truly felt like an outdoor chapel fit for royalty.

Even the cake carried a nod to the British Family. It was inspired by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s deconstructed wedding cake, complete with fresh blooms and light citrus flavors that felt perfect for an al fresco celebration.

Designing this editorial Graylyn Estate wedding for Kayla and Malik was such a joy. It allowed us to showcase our love for thoughtful design by combining textures, color, and architecture to create something that felt both elevated and unique. Every detail came together to tell a story within one of North Carolina’s most breathtaking venues.
